# How to Borrow

Before borrowing, an asset must be [deposited](https://docs.radiant.capital/radiant/project-info/markets/deposit) to be utilized as collateral.

After providing collateral, visit the **Markets** section to view the borrowing availability and yields.

Click on the asset you would like to borrow. On the **Reserve Status & Configuration** screen, click borrow.

In the image below, for example, there are 32.54 ETH available to borrow (based on collateral deposited) against the supported assets.

Set the desired borrow amount based on your available collateral balance, and continue to confirm the transaction. Note that the more you elect to borrow, the greater the impact on your overall [Health Factor](#health-factor) (more on this below).

## Borrowing Eligibility

The maximum amount available to borrow depends on the value of the collateral deposited, as well as the available liquidity for the asset. You won't be able to borrow an asset if there is not enough liquidity or if your [Health Factor](https://docs.radiant.capital/radiant/project-info/markets/borrow/borrow-1) is too low.

The **Loan-to-Value (LTV) ratio** represents the maximum borrowing power of specific collateral. For example, if a collateral has a LTV of 75%, the user can borrow up to 0.75 worth of ETH in the principal currency for every 1 ETH worth of collateral. This information can be found on any asset on the **Markets** page.
